First énergie site opens in Barcelona fully equipped by Core Health & Fitness

The first énergie Fitness club in Spain has opened in partnership with Core Health & Fitness in Sant Cugat, Barcelona, as part of a seven-year exclusive supplier agreement.
Peter Rigg, director of UK sales for Core Health & Fitness says: “This club is a great example of the Energie Iberia club concept. We look forward to assisting énergie and its franchisees with their growth over the coming years.”
The club has all five of Core’s brands; Star Trac cardio equipment, StairMaster HIIT products, Nautilus commercial strength products, Schwinn indoor cycling bikes and Throwdown for functional fitness solutions.
The equipment makes up a large gym area, plus three boutique group studios;
• A group cycling studio featuring Schwinn AC Power bikes.
• The YARD - which is a boot camp concept combining boxing, functional strength and HIIT principles.
• A multi-purpose/holistic studio – ‘Zenergie’ with a variety of programmes to suit every members’ needs.
Rod Hill, president of Energie Fitness Spain and international managing director, says: “We’ve established a very strong working relationship with all the team at Core, both internationally and locally in Spain which has made our installation in Barcelona a major success.

The club was opened by the mayor of San Cugat and was well attended for its opening day – and with more than 900 pre-sold memberships before opening, the club looks to be busy right from the outset.

This location is the first of many énergie clubs to come to Spain and marks the start of a rapid expansion plan, with more sites already being negotiated in other parts of Barcelona for the near future.
